Hotel description and useful information for travellers

Cleanliness

Mixed signals: several guests praised cleanliness, but multiple reviews mention stains on carpet, dirty spots and an unclean bathroom on arrival — overall slightly below average.

Service

Generally positive: staff repeatedly described as friendly and helpful; one report of prompt maintenance after reminders supports a good service perception.

Location

Very strong: almost every review highlights the excellent central location next to the Hauptbahnhof/train station; downside is the unpleasant station surroundings, but location itself is a major plus.

Room Quality

Mixed: rooms are described as comfortable and well laid-out with good soundproofing in many cases, but several guests reported worn fixtures, sagging mattresses and some damaged elements (e. g. , carpet stains, broken door).

Amenities

Modest: breakfast and lobby amenities are praised (happy hour noted), but some guests missed a minibar/fridge and reported limited hooks in bathrooms or other small shortcomings.

Value for Money

Positive: multiple guests explicitly call it good value or fair price and recommend it for short stays, indicating strong value perception.

Experience the perfect blend of comfort and convenience at our Premier Inn Essen City Hauptbahnhof hotel, your ideal base for exploring the vibrant city of Essen.

Prime Location

Nestled in the heart of Essen, our hotel offers easy access to renowned attractions like the magnificent Essen Cathedral and the fascinating Zollverein colliery, making it perfect for both business travelers and tourists.
